Many Zeta Nu members are members of band leadership teams. Several of whom are on the UNI Panther Marching Band leadership team, holding roles such as section leaders, uniform and equipment managers, and many more. Zeta Nu and Eta Pi work side by side in organizing and providing an end-of-the-year band banquet for all band members and their guests, as well as provide water coolers and apples during football games, organize lunch specials for game days, provide numerous activities for members during camp week, and set-up/organize breakfast for the marching band members during camp week. Zeta Nu members pride themselves on being respectable role models and leaders, as well as supporting the bands and what they stand for. Zeta Nu members also take pride in giving back to the community and supporting those in need.
Last Spring several members of the chapter joined forces to inventory the over 200 UNI Panther Marching Band uniforms and organize the uniform storage room.
This Fall the chapter came together to provide, organize, and set up/tear down breakfast for over 240 band members during camp week. As well as organized and sponsored a Panther Marching Band pool party that brought in roughly 200 + band members including our director of bands. Eta Pi and Zeta Nu are working together with other members of the marching band leadership team to organize a can-food drive in which the marching band will be competing against numerous organizations across the University of Northern Iowa campus to raise as much food as possible. The food raised across campus will be donated to food pantries across Iowa.
This January we had our Midwest District Service Day. We reorganized our marching band/pep band music library and created an electronic information data base for easier location of music.
We will also be helping with High school state solo contests, as well as many other events that come our way throughout pep band season at UNI! If you have a suggestion for a service idea, get in touch with our VPSP Danya Thoms.
